TypeEd Winner Adeline Funes

Adeline Funes, a 4th year graphic design student, originally intended to study landscape architecture or animal science for the pre-vet program at Cal Poly Pomona. She always had a love for art and design, but never originally considered it as an option or a career. She entered a TypeEd drawing at the LA Printers Fair and won the Type Class series of 1, 2 and 3. She tells us a little about what she's learned in the process.

Student Spotlight: The Absurd Kind of Uniformity Book Covers

During Kelly Chu's first year at UCLA, she designed The Absurd Kind of Uniformity in Carolina Trigo's typography class, which includes eight booklets representing an eight week design process of book covers for Walter Benjamin's Illuminations: Essays and Reflections and On Some Motifs in Baudelaire, a poster documenting a typographic paper sculpture, and a small intro/artist statement card.

After years of suppressing his creative spirit at desk jobs, Quinton finally decided to follow his passion and talents. He moved out to LA to attend Art Center almost two years ago and hasn’t looked back.
